This website aims to give you information about the church and parish of St Matthew's Church, Hayfield.

Our Statement of Purpose:


'We at St Matthew's are a fellowship of Christians committed to placing God at the centre of our lives. We exist to follow Christ's example and to share his message and love with the local and wider community'.

The Revd John Hudghton, Vicar of Hayfield and Chinley with Buxworth, Diocese of Derby, has now retired. 

Even though Revd John Hudghton is no longer available we are pleased to let you know that we do have a regular Sunday service at 11am.

All are welcome.

Our service at 11:00am on Sunday 16th March will be Holy Communion.

Our service at 11:00am on Sunday 24th March will be Holy Communion.

This will be followed at 2pm by a Pilgrimage to the summit of Lantern Pike carrying as we do a cross. Once at the summit there will be a short service.

On Thursday 28th March there will be a Maundy Thursday supper starting at 7pm. There will be fellowship, a foot washing reflection , (no you won't have to take part) food and more. 

On Easter Day 31st March we invite you to join us for an Easter Day Celebration starting at 11am.
